First time fell sick

It was since thursday morning, I noticed that the palm of her hands and feet's were warmer than the usual, and her head was kinda warm too. But I didn't worry so much that afternoon, as I though it might be the change of the weather in Jakarta for the past couple of days.

Though, right after dinner that night I did checked her temp and found out hers was 38.3C then I started to panic a little bit. I finally nursed her to sleep and went to asked dh to go the chemist to get some medicine in case her temp getting worse then 38. He reluctantly went to get it (he didn't like the though of giving his girl medicine), while I kept checking on her and making sure that our room wasn't too warm for her.

I didn't gave her anything that night, it was only for precaution, in case her temp will raise higher. Thank God, her temp was gradually went down to 37.4 in the morning.

This was her first time fell sick and it was inconvenience that we were on our holiday in Jakarta when this happen. No wonder she had been acting differently this past week, refusing her meal and frequently asked for nursing.

Eventhough she was sick, she didn't lose her cheerfull attitude and still kept everyone around her happy.

Ever since my pregnancy and the birth of my beautiful baby girl, my blog has changed its content. From movie review, work related matter and lovers thoughts to baby food and parenthood. I couldn't kept myself thinking how my life has changed from a career woman (who work long hours) to a stay at home mother (who still work long hours), from panicking whether the go live will go smoothly in my module to panicking why my daughter wouldn't want to eat her papaya.

Priority seems to shift too, all i can think now is her needs and everything about her. I've learn so much as a new mom, and had realized that being a stay at home mother was much tougher than a career woman. It requires 24/7 attention, no weekends and certainly no holidays.

Many had mentions how such a waste that I only stayed home with my daughter, while I can go and work and earned more money for the family. However, I've told those people that I wouldn't trade what I have now for anything in the world. I cherish every moment I have with my daughter, and Will continue in doing so until she is older and ready to face the world on her own. Though, I won't denied there were time , when I look at other woman who walked passed by me with their suit and laptop bag, and thinking...how I miss those days...but then I look down at my daughter face, and those thing doesn't seems to matter anymore. Am glad that I've choose to stay home and raise her and be with her, and am grateful for these blessing.

Lesson of motherhood

For mommies out there...Never leave your baby unattended!
Do not ever think that because they are small, they can only stay put..yeah rite...
I have to learn my lesson through a hard way, Chantal had fall from the bed!
It was on Sunday afternoon, the same day where we have just came home from the baby show. She was left on the bed (on the edge of the bed) for just a matter of second, then I hear a small thug, when I look at her direction ( which was facing down on the floor), my heart stop and she cried so loud when she looked at me. And me (panicy and also crying)...quickly took her from the floor, and I can see her left upper lips had swollen and her left chick was kinda reddish and brushes. I knew she must had been so traumatic, and couldn't stop crying. Even though her dad was trying to clam her down, she screams and screams for about half an hour. I kept telling her that I am so sorry that I left her there by herself. She eventually calm down after quiet a while, and laughing again when I let her played with the light switch. Then I bath her, and breastfeed her and let her snooze to sleep in my arms. Her swollen lips gradually disappear with the help of her daddy gel eye mask, though until today there's still a bit of bluish color on her left cheek.

Bowel problem

It has been nearly a month since I've started her with solid food, and a couple of weeks earlier was going normal and nothing seems to be a problem with her passing motion and all. Though since monday, she has been experiencing some problem during her daily bowel movement, she was making noises and making those constipated faces, and when I did check her nappy, her stool was kinda hard, not very hard, but clay kind of hard. She was crying after cleaned her and changed her nappy.

I did gave her an apple pureed on Sunday, and she didn't like it, so I stopped giving her by the third attempted. So it can't be the apple pureed, as today she still having trouble when passing motion this afternoon. Hmm...I did some research on the net and found this:
"Most of us recommend that, when you start feeding your baby, you start with cereal. The three cereals we suggest are rice, barley, and oat; all three are easily digested by most babies. Rice cereal is the traditional first food for babies: it is more digestible and less allergenic than other cereals. However, rice is also the most constipating of grains. I occasionally suggest starting with barley or oat cereals; I usually suggest that a baby be fed all three cereals within 3 weeks of starting cereals."

I am so worried now, cause not only she just showing this constipation after 3 weeks consuming the rice cereal, she seems to loose her appetite too. Although, she still being breastfed every 2 hours during day time, but I don't think that's enough after 3 weeks supplemented with a bowl of cereal. Today, she only took 4 small spoon of rice cereal, she started to be irritated and losing interest in her food. I hope it's just one of those period where she is growing and will apparently goes away tomorrow.

Finally

Remember how chantal hated being in her new stroller? Well, I've managed to put her in there again, and succeed. I guess it was the timing that wasn't right, it was evening, and she was positioned facing out, thus she coudn't see her mommy.

The second time I put her in her bugaboo again, I took her for a ride around lor 107 to lor 106, the second round, when I was busy looking around for any car that might pass us by, I look down on her and found out my chantal had fallen asleep. Hehehe..so I took her back to the apartment and let her sleep for another 15 minutes in her stroller.

She should now learn to enjoy the ride on her stroller :)
Daddy said you should like it, as it is like the Jaguar kinda type for a stroller..

Between charles and vincent please

No No...those aren't the name of my friends, nor anything like that (don't get dirty on me!)Charles and Vincent are a street name in Perth, a small quiet little city where I spend my long (too long!) college years. Where my "used to be mine" house was located, yup...it was in the corner of Charles st and Vincent st..

It's has been 2 days I was reminiscing about how my life was, back in Perth, on how I've learned to be independent, how I've spend my teenage years through my adulthood. For those who's wondering where the H*ll is Perth, it is the city in Western Australia, my mother discovered this quiet little place when she went golfing with her friends back in 1994, right before my high school graduation.
Those trip made my mom falls in love with the quietness of the city (the shops only open from 9 to 5!) and how clean it was and finally persuade my father to send me there. It was then I've learned that I was lucky to be send to study in Perth, had I'd study in America with my high school friends, I'll ended up going home with no degree.
However, I admit I wasn't such a good girl either, I did some things that I wouldn't proud of, was having a lot of late nite and enjoying the freedom of being independent. But I came to my senses, and finished my study with a good grade, and then got my dream job as SAP consultant.

Phemm...what a journey...I never pictured myself as a Stay Home Mother before, I always think I will be like those career woman, who was busy all the time. Though, when I enter this new profession of motherhood, I've then realize this profession is much tougher than my old job.
And the reward is much more fulfilling than thirteen salary or a big bonus at the end of the year.

I miss Perth so much...

One of these day I need to go back to oz..or else when its time to renew my pr, they probably wouldn't approve it. God forbid.
