A new camcorder

Last couple of weeks ago, when we were browsing around at the Best Denki, we came upon a camcorder stall, then realized that we will be needed one of those camcorder for the new arrival. But what to choose? there are so many of them, and we didn't know which one will be sufficient enough with the right price for our pocket.

We then, look around and find this particular brand with function that we think should be sufficient enough for daily use. It was this Canon DC100, and it was on special (promotion). My dear said, that we should buy that instead of those expensive one.

However, when i went to buy the camcorder, the sales person who attend to my interest was so presistant that i should get the newest model instead. It was the DC20,as he showed me the different between them, i called my dear and said that we should take the DC20 as the price is on promotion and mind as well get the best one if we want to keep it for quiet sometime.

So there it is, we have a camcorder for our new arrival. It was already tested by my dear, he took some shoot and pics when we were at the Clark quay on saturday.

39 Weeks

I am now 39 weeksill hasn't feel any major contraction, my weight now is 62.8 kg and my blood preasue falls in normal 70/120. She is now approx 3.1 kg. We did another baby monitoring again, and she was doing the movement again.

I am hoping she will came out as soon as possible, the doctor said he knows i want the baby to come out soon, but he suggest that we wait and let the nature do the rest. Azizah, the nurse told me to do some walking, i guess i didn't walk enough since my parents arrival. We always took cab and never walk to long or far enough.

So as soon as i get home, i ask father to accompany me to buy some congee down at the station (my dear have to work from home) and then walk again to mc donald to get my mom some french fries.

After that, i took some rest and take a nap, woke up, took a shower and took my mom to eat her dinner at sushi tei paragon. Then we take a cab to clarke quay for dinner. We ate at 'clarkquay riverside' restaurant.

38 Weeks

I am now in my 38 weeks, the baby still moving very actively, i haven't experienced any major contraction, only some here and there. Nothing to worry about, said my doctor, between now and 20th october it's the time for "wait and see".

We took some monitoring of the baby hearhbeat and monitoring whether there's some contraction. The test it self took 20 minutes, and it turns out that she is very active inside me, cannot stop moving, and her heartbeat seems to be perfectly normal - fast and steady.

My weight is 62.4 Kg, my baby's weight is approx 2.7 kg, my blood preasure fall in 70/120 - everything seems perfect.

A total fraud..what a liar...

I couldn't believed what my brother was telling me when he was here, i didn't notice that he did wrote a comment on my previous post about "a million little pieces" by james frey.

It turn out that he wasn't all true about his book, it was totally a made up stories, he didn't experience all that, let along was charged in 3 different stated in US.

And he told Oprah about this lies when he was interviewed by her in a national television across the nation and probably across the world for that matter.

There was an investigation by the smoking gun that reveal about his true lies. A complete report on how and what can be found in here.

A lady name Pauline

A lady name Pauline came to my place this morning to help me with some cleaning around the house, which also include some ironing. My hubby insist i look for a cleaning lady to help me cleaning the place once every week. I had her number from my dear friend Anne, who get her number from her other friend. The lady live in Pasir Ris, so she doesn't have to travel too far from where she live, and she is from Philippine, around 40ish and had apparently a singaporian citizen, so it is legal to hire her as a part-time helper.

As soon as she arrived, we had a small talk about the weather and how she get here, and then she is ready to start the day, she clean very well though...every single corner of my place was shiny and smell so fresh. Although my place wasn't that dirty to start from, i least from what i saw, she is rubbing everything, even the wire that attached to my rice cooker. :)
Uh and one other thing...she is a very happy lady, because while she clean the place, she always sings. This is a sign of a very happy person.

I am so glad that she is helping me with those small details. Thanks ms Pauline.

Kolak

Yesterday after discussing whether i should make my own kolak or look for a place where they sale them, i went to geylang serai and search patiently for kolak to saviour my sweet tooth.
disappointed, there were no kolak around, i ended up buying "paru balado" for my dear instead, hiks...Malaysian born singaporian didn't consume any "kolak" during fasting month in singapore.

So i took a courage to ask some help, i send an email to ISM and ask anyone who ever bought or saw a place where they sell kolak. And yes...within a couple of minutes, those nice mum in ISM come to my rescue. One mum told me they do sell 'em at jl pisang in bugis. Yihhiiiiii....at last, a bunch of thanks to ISM Mum...

PS: for those who doesn't know what kolak is, it is an indonesian sweet beverage made from coconut milk, palm sugar, bananas cutlet and "singkong", usually made during the month of Ramadhan. They are absolutely delicious , especially for people who love sweets foods.

A nice short visit

I have received an email from my older brother that he will be stopping by for a half day on his way to Kobe, Japan. At first i thought his flight was on 2nd oct, but when i received an sms from him this afternoon, i was shock that his flight was actually today arriving at 4pm in singapore, and his next flight to japan will be around 1 am at night, and that 2nd oct was the day of his meeting in Japan.
Luckyly we didn't have any plan for this afternoon, and beside the weather looks pretty gloomy,
i think it will rain quiet heavy today.

And...whoooalaaa...the rains pouring so heavy we have to close all the window in our apartment. (we does have a lot of windows in our apartment). So i sms my brother, telling him not to take mrt to our place, and ask him to take a cab instead.

When he arrived, it was already 4:30 pm, and the rain had finally stop. He does lose a bit of kilos, and kinda look skinny for that fact. And because his skin is always be the darkest from 4 of us siblings, after loosing that kilos, he is back to his original skin, which is tan or more likely dark! Hehehe sorry bro...

Around 5ish, we took a cab to orchard as my brother want to go to Kinokuniya, it is the only place that he had interest (yupe, he is such a book lover), we ended up buying 5 books too. Heehehehe.

After that we grab some dinner at Pepper lunch, and then we head to cosmopolitan at Wisma to drink some beer and chat. No..i didn't drink any of those beer if you guys wondering, a glass of ice chocolate milkshake for me please...:)

A little bit of review, a little bit of complaining

Lets start with a little bit of reviewing, i bought this remarkable book on 18th september after looking for quiet sometimes, and due to its popularity, this book was out of stock for nearly a month.

When i first start reading this book, i started from the very first page (i don't usually read what the author said) where the author was giving a brief notes.

Then as soon as i start reading 'em...i couldn't put it down, i kept on reading...and reading...it's so moving, it's so real comes to the point that it's scary to even imagine what the author has been through...

The part that i like about this book, is not how he describe his life and his afford of trying to get sobber..but how he stand by his point, that what happen to him was purely because of him, not trying to blame other people for it (specially his parents), didn't even look for other source to be blame. It was like what i've once told my parents, when they were telling me the story of how so and so child's was a junky, or a drug addicts and how the parents was to blame. I told my parents, it is unfair to blame the parents of what happen to those people who "choose to use drugs".

Using and not using a drug is a choice to make, and for a child to be addicted to it, and blame it to the parents, for me it was just absurb!. Learn to accept the consequences of what you are doing. And this book its all about that...i would give a 10 star for this book, i already told my friend Anne to read this book.

Now, lets's talk about my complaining...
As you can see, at the corner of the book, there was a highlight on the page number. I didn't highlight them...yupe, i was surprise to have a highlighted page on my new book which by the way, i bought it from a very reputable japanese bookstore in takashimaya...So book lovers, please please check your book before you purchase them, don't just check on the cover, if you can...check every pages, and look whether someone highlight something, or you've have just purchased a second hand book instead!

Fire Alarm

at approximately 1 am, the fire alarmed in my tower went off, it was a very loud noise and when i tried to find where it came from, i opened my apartment door, and the sound was actually from the level where my apartment is.

i went to the back to our apartment to where the laundry is, look down from the balcony and there was the old man whom always cleaning the place and i saw him trying to contact somebody from the building maintenance.

then after about 15 minutes, there were a fire bridgade in front of the premises..i went back to the laundry area again, and saw them at the other tower, they looked like they were looking for the switch or something. when the sound was turn off, in 5 minutes it turn on again, and it happen even untill the fire bridgade had left.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom (PCOS)

My close friend who was trying to get pregnant was diagnose by the doctor to have a Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom. This syndrom made the carrier to become infertile, and will also cause problems such as diabetic, irregular menstruation, hormonal inbalance, thinning of a hair, and excessive growth of hair in certain area of the body (manly hair).

She was so down when she heard she had this syndrom, i though that she was just going to have a regular check up at MT Elizabeth Hospital, and the doctor prob just gonna prescribe her some hormon boost or some vitamins, but what looks like a regular and a normal check up, turns out to be a bad news for her and her husband.

I met her for a coffee yesterday, and she told me that if she will not pregnant within the 3 months treatment of all the medicine her doctor gave her, she have to get back to singapore, and undergo some other treatments, and if that doesn't work as well, she have to undergo a surgery, and if the surgery doesn't cured her she have to go through ICSI.

To understand her syndrom i've tried to google on the net, and find out PCOS is usually happen to a woman who has a problem with weight, and my friend is so skinny that people would say she is underweight. Although, she was diagnose as to have a hormonal inbalance a couple years ago when she still living in perth.

I just hope that she will get well soon, as this particular syndrom is not cureable, but it is treatable.

Info on PCOS can be found in here.

The curse of DURIAN

I was introduce to this kind of fruit since i was young, but from the moment i taste it, i don't really like it. First of all, they all have this distinctive smell, which won't go away eventhough you'd brush your teeth, washed your hands or use mouthwash. A lot of asian people love it, and in my family, only me and my dad didn't like it. Everytime my mom or my sister want to it them, my dad always told them to eat them at the backyard or far away from the house, so the smell won't get into the house. Second of all, i don't like the taste, its weird, and it so gooe and soft and dirty. The perfect word for it was, I HATE IT. And my dear husband love it, his family love it, and because he knew that i hate durian, he hasn't eat durian since then. But he once told me that he hope when i had my craving it would be a durian. And God seems to agree with him, when i was at the doctor appointment on saturday, i asked the doc whether i can eat durian, and my dear was surprise. He told the doctor, that i hate durian, and this is going to be the first time i asked for durian. So last nite, we bought this D24 grade durian from the shop near mrt station, and as soon as we get home, all of them just vanished. Wooshhhh! Hehehehe...it was so nice and juice. I still can't believe myself that i could be asking for a durian in my whole life. :)

Third Trimester Checkups

Yesterday we went to east shore for my regular checkups, it turns out that i only gain 0.3 Kg. My baby weight is 1.7 kg which means she only gain 0.1 kg since 3 weeks ago..though my doc said everything looks fine and she still have a normal weight, i am worried that she wouldn't get enough food. I felt guilty of not putting enough weight lately.
I am now 33 weeks and the doctor doesn't seems to be worried about me, thus he ask me to visit him in 3 weeks time. I thought by this time i should visit him once a week, but the nurse said it wouldn't be advice until i reach 36 weeks or if the doctor advice otherwise.

After visiting him, we went to pre-registered for my delivery, and was told not to wear any jewelery or bring any valuable stuff along.

Btw, i have some not so happy news, my dear's lil brother apperantly choose 31st dec as his wedding date. Which means that my dear will not be in singapore for his first new year eve with his child. I couldn't say anything when he told me about that, except i was just smile. Its the thing with me, i couldn't say anything when something was upsetting me. Well.. i guess i have to bear with the situation, as i don't have a say in this. I am very upset and dissapointed, but nothing i said or done will change anything.

baby cot for my chantal

Today Singapore was pouring rains, although the day start with a beautiful morning and a hot and humid afternoon, by 1 am, the skies suddenly darken, and wind was blowing with such a high pitch. Then its raining, it wasn’t pissing like it usually does, it’s a total rain, and sky was so dark, you’ll think it was 6 o’clock in the evening.

I supposed to go to the market today, to grab some veggies and some other stuff needed at home. Well, I’m glad that I cancel it due to the delivery of my new baby cot, which supposed to come on the 2nd September (this Saturday). Another thing I really don’t like doing business with Singapore was they wont tell you the exact time for them to delivery the items, they always put down between 10-12 or between 1-5, and expect people to be home during that time. Why can’t they give people more precise time, or at least more reasonable interval like 1 to 3? When I was living in Australia, every delivery will came around 7-9 or 9-11, they always gave you 2 hours interval, not 4 hours!

Anyways, stop with the complaining, the baby cot came around 4 and it was perfectly fit the space left in the room along with the single bed. I love it, though the bedding was in blue, I wouldn’t asked for the pink one, cause last time I saw it was so ugly. Blue can go with girl too right? I know,…I know, I will look for the set of bedding for the cot, maybe some natural color, and some diapers bag, mattress cover, toys for the cot, wow…I still have so much things to buy for the baby.
I guess it gave me a reason for another shopping spree….yeeheee…

An old friend of mine

I have received an sms from a very old friend of mine, she apparently got my singapore number from my younger brother. She used to live in perth, and was a friend of Lia (my best friend).
Anyways, she called me and i was curious as what was she doing here and was wondering whether what lia told me before was true, about her being separate (maybe even divorce) and she move to singapore to enter some beauty course or something. And it turns out that what lia told me was totally true, she separate from her husband the day her son was born, her son is now 2 1/2 years old, which means that she has been a single parents for nearly 3 years already.

Hmm, after hearing her story, i couldn't help but thinking how lucky i am, to have married the one i truly love, and not just marrying someone for the shake of "getting married'.

The reason why i said this was because some of my friends were getting married for the wrong reason. Which then end up living with a regrets, some then decide to get a divorce, some still trying to figure it out what they want from their relationship (too late when you already say I DO isn't it?).

Pepper Crab

Yes, i ordered another round Joo Chiat's famous crab.
I called them first, and it was kinda hard talking to singaporian, their english is very hard to understand, and i ended up with 2 medium (medium = larger) crab. Ha ha,..i hope we can finish all of them. Couldn't wait for my dear to arrived from work, it smell so darn good.

Dinner @ eunos

Well, we decided that we were doing to stay at home after doctor visit, and just be lazy. So we did! we stayed home, browsing the internet (psst..we still using other ppl connection!), wacthing infotainment on indonesian channel, laying on couch...well..just plain lazy.

Although, we decided to go for a swim just to cool down a bit. However, we couldn't stay too long at the pool, as the water became too cold and there's no sun at all.

Then after a shower and a cup of cocoa, we went to grab something to eat at the foodcourt near by the mrt station.

After lurking around for about 10 minutes, we decide to order 3 dishes from one of the busiest stall. And these are the dishes... butter sotong, bean curd with minced beef and kangkung blacan. I know...it was quiet a lot for just 2 people, but we manage to finished them all...:)

2nd visit to ObGyn

Weight: 61 Kg
Blood Pressure: 120/80
Baby weight: 1.4 Kg

My appt was 8:30 am on saturday, when we arrived at the hospital, the doctor was still doing his routine check on the 4th floor.

So we made some small take with the nurse there, her name is Azizah, she was sho cheerful and so nice. She told me not to consider any epidural, because the pain wasn't that bad. Oh yeah rite, just because she had a very easy labour that doesn't mean i will too. But i took her advice and just smile.

When we went inside to see the doctor, with 2 of my early scan, the doctor then determined that my due will be around 20th.

I asked him about pain relief during labour, and he said theres some injection to numb the pain for a while, and there s epidural to numb the pain all the way to labour. And i told him that i choose to take epidural, and he said that it will be ok and will take note on that.

Everything was fine, my water level was totally fine, my baby head position is already where it should be, which is down, and my placenta position is ok. So, he told me to just relax, and enjoy my pregnancy.

Oyah, we finally find out how much will the labour will cost if i choose to have the 1 bedded, approx S$4000 something, that is including the doctor fee, and if i choose to take epidural, than theres and additional S$700.

Joo Chiat's Famous Chilli Crab

As tomorrow is a public Holiday in Singapore for National Day Celebration, we decide to try the very famous Joo Chiat Chilli crab which is located 5 minutes from where we live.

We were thinking of eating out, but we change our mind as soon as we saw the place was packed and there are people still waiting to be seated.

So we order for take away, the person asked my hubby to choose the 2 life crab form the aquarium, and she will then weight them and then escort those life crabs to the chef to be cooked.

2 life crabs which were weight 1.8 kg cost S$38.

When we arrived back at our apartment, and start eating those crabs, our comments was "Oh My Gosh...this is really delicious...hmm...yummie". The taste was soooo goooood. The sauce was plain black, with a sense of margarine and the crabs was sweet and juice and thick. I took a picture of my dear eating those crab and will post it later.

We cleaned up the plate, and agreed that was the best black pepper crab that we ever tasted.

Starter Kit for newborn

Today i went window shopping @ suntec city to look for a couple of stuff for our baby. I went by mrt and stop at city hall interchange so i can walk through city hall mall and take my time looking at shops along the way.

After browsing through baby's stuff in mothercare, i have just noticed that i would be needing so much stuff for the baby, that i could not know where to start.

So i start by buying a pack of 8 clothing for our baby's, its a starter kit for newborn. Although i couldn't take my eyes on the pink set, i still bought the white one, just in case it wasn't a baby girl. After our visit to doctor, i still have doubt on the sex of our baby. Because i have develop a pimple face which got to do with hormonal changing, some said if the mother developed a lot of pimples, than theres a high possibility of her having a baby boy.

Thus, i will only buy those pinky stuff if i'm diff sure about my baby's sex. However, baby looks more radiant and pure and innocent in white don't they?

For the cot and other stuff, i'm still browsing around for the most efficient and affordable one, the one that will last untill my baby is 3-5 years old. Preferably the one which can be convert into a toddler bed.

Arriving in Singapore with Family and Sibling

At last, i can start writing in our "forgotten blog" again.
Not that we want to left it behind, its just some many things i have to do, and considering we haven't had any internet connection since we move to our new apartment.

We arrived in Singapore on the next day of My Dear's best friend wedding, it was on the 16th july. We had an early flight, and arrived in singapore around 10 am, and straight away headed to the apartement in Changi.

To our surprise, angie (our RE Agent) didn't mention that all the furniture which supposed to be arrived yesterday afternoon weren't not completed delivered by Novena ppl. There were only the divans and coffee table in the apartment. I was so dissapointed, she told us that the delivery was delayed and she couldn't wait for the delivery ppl. So she (or the person whom she told to wait) had left the premises around 6:30, and the delivery ppl came around 7:30 pm.

My parents were also kinda surprise and we decided that we might as well check-in into the hotel and come again tomorrow for the delivery of the rest of the stuff.

So we took some of our stuff and catch a cab to scotts road, hoping to get a room at Royal Plaza in Scotts. Though it wasn't our lucky day, as no room available, then i tried to call hyatt hotel which located opposite Royal which had a rate much higher than the Royal one. But my parents was tired and my mom need to rest, so my dad said it was ok and told me to take 2 rooms at Hyatt.

After settling in Hyatt, it was time for lunch, so we had lunch just around the corner of Hyatt.

After lunch, my parents wanted to take a nap and we (me, my dear and choky) will do some shopping for the apartments and will be back when its time for dinner.

We decided to take MRT instead to go to Harvey Norman, coz we need to buy some household such as rice cooker, kettle, and so on. After spending some time deciding which type of things we like to purchase. We headed to Carrefour to buy some other things for the apartments. After finished shopping we took a cab back to the apartments and drop the goods there and head back to Hyatt. What an exhausted day we had so far.

Baby Girl

We had an appointment with Dr Denas Chandra at East Shore Hospital, this hospital located not too far from where we live. The Hospital itself is not that big but it is one group with Mount Elizabeth and Gleneagles.

It only took 10 minutes walking from our apart to the Hospital, we were late though, the doctor already seeing other couple, so we have to wait for 10 minutes. I gave the nurse all information that the doctor need before seeing me, such as my 3d screening and my blood test result.

When its time for us to go in, I have to take a urine test, I don’t know for what reason though. The doctor was really kind, he looks Malay and spoke very soft, he took some notes on my pregnancy, and done some ultrasound screening, guess what?? It’s Baby Girl!!! My dear had a big smile on his face when the doctor said it’s a girl. Then what everyone said was totally wrong, I knew it that it will be a girl, but because so many people said that it is a boy, I had a doubt myself. So it is confirm that it’s going to be a Chantal instead.

My doctor also said that my due date might slightly be on late October then early October; this is due to the measurement of the baby. If he used my last day of period, which mean I am in my 28 weeks than my baby should weight about 1 kg, but when he measured the length and the weight, she only weight around 800 grams, which means I should be around 26 weeks instead.

He said not to worried, cause everything looks fine, she look proportional and my water level was about alright. So there’s nothing to be worried about. It might be just my calculation was wrong. Come to think of it, my last first date of period was on the 3rd January, though it didn’t last as a normal period, it last about 12 days. As the first couple of days my period wasn’t going as normal, only a couple of drop and that’s it. I though it might be because I was sick and took some antibiotic.

However, the doctor wants me to take some blood test, as my previous one didn’t include HIV and other important things. He then prescribes some multivitamin and a calcium tablet for me and asks me to come to see him in 3 weeks time.

We take bus home, as we want to open bank account. There were a DBS Bank in MRT station nearby, though we had left our passport, which my dear said I don’t have to bring when opening a bank account. Anyway, we walked back home to get the passport and told mom, dad and my brother about the good news.
My dad was so happy, he said that will completed his grandchild, one boy and the other is a girl. My brother was happy too so does my mom.

Hunting for an Apartment in Singapore

Before we leave on the 3rd July, we had contacted a couple of real estate agent, completed with our budget range and what we are looking for in an apartment.

For instants we need an apartment which is fully furnished, 3 bedroom (for the upcoming baby and guests). Place near MRT and possibly not too far from where my husband's work. Although, we know that places around where he works will have a price way over our budget range.

On the day before our departure from Jakarta, i have arrange a viewing with 2 agents, one scheduled as soon as we arrived in Singapore (afternoon), the other is on the second day (4th July). But to our disappointment the first agent was taking us for granted, he thought that i only contact him for inquiries, and he ended up let us down by saying he didn't have any suitable place within our price ranges. What a B*tch he was.

So on our first day, my husband look upset about the agent, and so did i.

The next day, the other agent called and told us that we will viewed 4 places, and will start the viewing from 2:30 to 4:30.

My husband had to canceled his appointment with ISS Consulting, and had re-scheduled it to the next day.

The first place was in Aljunied MRT, it's an apartment with no facilities, 3 bedrooms, fully furnished, kinda old, and when we viewed it, the owner still have a lot of stuff lying around, which make the place look small and not neat at all.
I knew that this is going to be the last choice if we have to choose a place today.
Although, the price was ok, it was 1500.

The second one was quiet a nice place in Paya Lebar, huge place with full facilities, it is a condo apartment. But the price was wayyy wayy over our budget. It was 2500, and its not fully furnished. MRT station was located 5 minutes from the place. I don't think we should even consider this place even the owner said the price still negotiable.

The 3rd place was in Eunos, one stop after paya lebar, this one is a brand new apartment, with a small pool and a jacuzi. As soon as we entered the place, we both was stuned by how bright the place was, a lot of sun came in the place, the kitchen equiped with gas stove, all rooms was in parquite, and the place was never tenanted before. We discussed in the kitchen and decided that we going to rent it, with one condition, they will provide washing machine and a fridge. The lady who is the agent of the place told us that the owner will provide the washing machine and the fridge but not the whole furniture. So, we asked our agent a favour as to show us where can we rent some furniture. She told us that we can even go looking for furniture afterwards.

After signing for a letter of consent, and put down some deposit money, we went to furniture place to look for furnitures. The first place was Nova, after looking around, the total amount that we need to spend in order to buy all those will be around 3000. I don't think i want to spend that much of money to buy all things that we only use it for 2 years. So i told our agent to take us to the rented one, she made a call, and we drove to the other furniture place. This place was ok, all their furniture are on sale and compare to the first one, their price was lower than Nova. We took a the codes of all things we want to rent including their prices. After calculating the price and spoke to the person who incharge of rental. He offer us 210 dollar/month with the deposit of one month rent and one month in advance.

After settle everything in one day, we had so much relief and rest in our hotel room for a couple of hours.

We went to have dinner at Food Republic and spent a couple of hours walking around the plaza. When we arrived back at the hotel, i have the urged to calculated the total amount that we need to spend per month and compared them with the amount we spent in one go if we decided to buy all those stuff. If we rent the furniture for $210 per month, we will end up paying 4000 plus, while we only pay around 2000 plus for all the stuff. Thinking of it, we will gain more if we buy all the stuff than rent them. So I sms my agent again and told her to hold the process of renting, because we will go to the furniture place again and will asked for the the final price.

Out from the comfort zone

Its all started when a head hunter from magnetic consulting was calling my dear, offering him 2 jobs, one in singapore for Levi's and the other in Australia.

This back and fort called was only happen a week ago, apparently my dear told the head hunter to put him on the Singapore Job, because the aussie job was for 6 months contract, while the singapore one is for 2 years contract with the possibility of extension or permanent.

After second interview with their IT Director, my dear secure the job, and had to sign contract yesterday.

So today, my dear went to see our boss, and gave him the letter of resignation, to our surprise, our boss didn't even said anything to made him stay, he even said he knew that all senior might not like the result of the merger, and sooner or later he will lose all his senior. My dear also said, that i will resign as well, i was supposed to see him this afternoon after his meeting, but i think i will see later.

O well, at least my dear had the courage to move from his comfort zone which begining to be not so comfortable anymore.

We will start a new begining, where we both have to start with only the two of us, overseas, no family and no friends. But I think we can make it and will make it.

Visit to RSB Asih

Weight: 55 Kg
Blood Pressure: 110/70
Mood: Happy and proud

Yesterday i went to see my ObGyn for my monthly check up, this time i didn't go to MMC but to another hostpital which specilize in labour. It located in South Jakarta, near my old kindegarten. Was there from around 4, and ended up seing my doc around 5:40ish. My mom accompanied me there, she want to see when the doc took the ultrasound, but I guess it wasn't her lucky day, my doc said there's no need for an ultrasound, as i already took 3d u/s 2 weeks ago. I told him i wanted to see the sex of my baby, he said we'll find out later, it's either a boy or a girl anyway. :)

Since there was no complication on my pregnancy and i did put on weight, he was so happy and did a check on my baby heartbeat.

I told him about my last visit to the other doctor and how he said that my placenta was lying low. But my doc said, there was no need to be worry, because it is normal to have placenta lying low in early pregnancy. Phewww..i should have see him after i saw the other doctor, for reassurance.

Neverthless he said i could fly as long as i am not in my 7 months, and told me not to worry about my ankle, because he didn't even see the difference, and it might only my paranoid. Hehehehe.

The answer for my swollen ankles

How can I ease the symptoms of swollen feet during pregnancy?

Swollen feet are common during the last trimester of pregnancy, especially during hot and humid weather. Some women find that swimming is the best way to reduce swelling, as both the cool temperature and hydrostatic pressure of water help to decrease the edema (fluid accumulation).

You can try a cool bath as well. Try to keep the water at a temperature that's comfortable but cool and lay in it for 15-30 minutes. When you get out, rest and elevate your legs, if possible.

Drinking water will also help your body function well and diminish fluid retention. It may seem that more water would make things worse but conversely, dehydration sends out a message to your body to retain water.

Check food labels and avoid high sodium products. Once you start reading labels, you'll be amazed by how much sodium most processed foods contain. Try to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoid over-processed foods.

Kankle

I have just find out that my ankle are getting huge..
I don't know why, today when i was looking at my feet, i notice both my ankle are growing bigger. Bare in mind, i always has small ankle, that was the pride of my legs..DoooH!

I bet this things are one of those symthoms of preganancy, which will drive moms crazy, well..not all woman, maybe just me!

I like showing of my legs! Perhaps i should reduce my salt intake and drink plenty even more water than i used too..and Yes, EXERCISE! Gee,...it sounds so easy does it? The thing is, i don't have time to do some exercise, well, actually I DO, i just can't be bothered doing it, cz most of the time i will be too tired to do anything.

Maybe i just take a walk, doing window shopping, walking around a big mall like Pondok Indah Mall or something...or PS maybe?

I don't know why

Was feeling crampy this morning..
Starting when i was talking to one of our company's driver, telling him about how my mom was sick and how she was being treated. This women, who is a receptionist in our office kept cutting in and said something which totally out of my subject, and couldn't stop until i said so.

Then, around lunch, just before i get my lunch, my dear was talking to me on YM and was whinning about how difficult it was to get his KeyBCA to work properly, because he had change the address and that the new address wasn't not registered to the KeyBCA, to make matter worst, he has to go to the central bank to get it fix.

He was annoyed with all the procedure that he has to do, because he has moved to my place and has change his ID card address to the current address, and told me that his younger brother have had told him that it will be so much hazzle when you change your address and have to renew all document, including car registration, tax land, etc.

I couldn't take it anymore, can't handle the complaint, and tears was coming out of my eyes.

Blood Pressure: 100/69

Been feeling really tired these couple of days. My maide had to go back home because her child was sick, thus me and my dear were helping each other to do things around the house.

Office was getting really crowded, all the sales people stayed in the office, preparing proposal or making calls to prospective client.

It's still 11 am and i'm already feeling tired and sleepy.
O well maybe i need to do some exercise or start swimming.

Visit to 3D/4D U/S

Our appointment to see this specialist was scheduled on 18th may, at 7 pm in the evening, my dear will go straight from pulo gadung, while i will be taking cab instead, cause the parking was quiet impossible around that place.

My dear arrived first and already registered for the appointment, when we were pointed out where the doctor room was, there were a long queue sitting at a long sofa.

Finally, we were called in around 9ish, and spend 15 minutes inside, the doctor was so nice, as I lay down on the bed there, i was so surprise looking at my own tummy, apparently the bump look so obvious.

The tiny creature inside me has already has completed its transformation, though still look kinda skinny. My dear was worried because the baby look too skinny and asked the doctor, whether it was because the mother didn't accordingly. But the doctor said, it is normall for a baby to look that skinny when in its 18/19 weeks, no matter how much the mother eats, the baby will only absorb a small amount of food.

Everything looks fine he said, no abnormalities, though he still couldnt see the baby's sex yet. After meassuring my baby lenght and all, he said that i might be on labour late october, around 18 october. And I need to be more carefull, and not gets too tired, as he showed me that my placenta in to close to "jalur lahir", the normal lenght are 1.5 cm, while mine was 1.04 cm. This could trigger a bleeding in early pregnancy. He also said that if possible, we need to take some break from having sex for a month. :)

We went home, with 5 pictures of our baby. I'm so happy that my baby is so healthy and look normal dispite my placenta condition.

God, what a weekend

It was friday morning around 4 something am, when my dear received a phone call from my dad. My dad told him that he needed to go the hospital, cause he had just sliped in his bedroom. So dear and I were rushing down stairs to my parents bedroom, and found my dad was laying on his bed with hands covering his nose, there were some trace of blood from bathroom to where his bed was. My dad was telling us that he had fell down and hit the table near the bed, and eventually teared some part between his nose and his lips. I was so shocked, i couldn't think. I was scared, cause i never saw my dad in such a pain like that. We tried to get him up to go to the hospital, but he was saying his back hurts, and he was too weak to get up from the bed. We waited a couple of minutes when he finally get up, get dressed and walk out from the bedroom. By the time we arrived at the emergency room at MMC Hospital, we found out that my dad had been there a couple hours before with my younger brother, and the doctor had given him some medicine for his headache and some sleeping pils to help him sleep. That was the reason why he fell down and couldn't remember ever fell down. Though, the doctor said this won't happen if he stayed at the hospital that night.

After a couple of minutes waiting on the doctor to prepared to examined my dad, she came up to me and asked whether i want my dad wound to be treated by plastic surgery doctor or herself, i said it better if the plastic surgery doctor can attend to my dad wound. Then the nurse called the plastic surgent and asked if she could come in, or she wants to be pick up considering it was still early in the morning.

While waiting for the plastic surgent to be picked up, my dad was undergo some x-ray for his back problem, and a ct-scan for her head, in case something happen when he fell down.

The procedure took quiet a while, so i take care the administration and book a room for my dad. By the time my dad had finished all his x-ray and ct-scan, he was taken back to the emergency room, where the doctor will perform the surgery.

Before the procedure take place, i told the nurse and the doctor that my dad had been sweating all morning, and she said it might be from high sugar level that my dad had.

We waited for nearly an hour at the emergency room, while i called my mom, and message my older brother about what happen. The surgery went well, and the result was good, though the plastic surgeont said she won't keep my dad, and he can go home, as for his back complain and others, we have to wait for other specialist to come and see what happen to my dad. Therefore, they took my dad to normal room, so he can rest while waiting for the internist doctor.

Me and my dear felt a relief because everything went well. Though, waiting for the other doctor to attend to my dad was such a bump. Gosh, i was so tired and so were my dear. He went to get some breakfast, while i've waited for the doctor to come.

To make the matter worst, the blood test showed that my dad trombosit was below normal, thus he have to stay until it went up to normal.

18 weeks

Yes, i'm now 18 weeks and 1 day pregnant, and i'm so proud of having this bump on my tummy. Eventhough, all my normal pants starting to annoyed me with its tightness and uncomfortable, i love being pregnant. A couple of weeks ago, people wouldn't notice that i am pregnant, coz for my size i would consider my pregnancy to be small. Well, i am a small woman. Till now, people still think im in my early pregnancy (first trimester). :)

My weight still wouldn't go up, though i've eat quiet a lot lately. Since my last visit to the dr, i felt so quilty of not eating the amount of a pregnant woman should eat. But last night when i weight myself on the scale, i'm still on 52 kilos :(.

I am one of the lucky one, who doesn't have morning sickness, with no particular craving except i prefer to eat beef than other meat ( i don't usually eat red meat, never fond of the smell). Although, come to think of it, in the early of january, i was craving for a steak (yes, grilled flame steak) and it was the time when we didn't even know that i was pregnant. All i can remember was i want to try those ABUBA Steak in Cipete, so one saturday night, we drove to that place and found out that there was no parking spot until another 500 meters. So my dear said, no point parked to far away to eat those steak, and we ended up eat steak at Nebraska (which i finished eating those steak within 15 minutes!!).

a witch

I couldn't believe that it will happen to me again.
A couple of weeks ago, when i was trying to park my car in the basement of our office building, there was a women, who sale some traditional cakes and some fruits, she was telling me not to park near her gourmet, it was too close to her stuff and asked me to move my car to the other side, which was behind the spot i've just parked. So, without arguing with her, i reluctantly drove my car and park behind it, when i was trying to park my car, there was another car took the empty spot i left. And to my surprise, this women who was complaining about me parking there, didn't said or make any comments on the person who drove the car. I was so mad at her, but couldn't say anything. She was so rude.

Today, that scene happen to me again, after trying to avoid parking at that spot for a couple of week. I just couldn't be bother to find another parking spot, and park there. She wasn't there, though she was walking towards me, and was looking at me as I was getting my stuff and locking my door. When i was about to leave, she was calling me and asking me to tuck my rear window in. I was trying to ignore her, and keep walking, although she raise her voice and kept calling me. I said to her my rear windows are broken thus cannot be bent, ohh she then told me to move my car back. I said, no...i won't do that. And just ignoring and leave her. My goodness..The thing was she never ever comment on other people when they parked they car near her. And it is my right to park wherever i want. It is a parking lot indeed.

Gee...i might just call the security and told them about her. This is just annoying.

Maide has arrived

Last night, around 8 something, when i was came down from the stairs to get some water, my dear was telling me that my maide was in the carport. I was so shock.
I came to her and asked whats happening? And told her how worried we are, we thought she was adobted by a strangers or a mad man.

It turns out she had a bleeding on friday morning at 4:30, and had to catch a cab to take her to a midwife clinic. She didn't know she was pregnant until the midwife told her she was 3 and a half months pregnant. ( I Couldn't believe she didn't know that while we all already notice her big bump). The midwife said she just had a miscariege and need to have an aborstion. She lost a lot of blood, that's why she has to stay at the clinic until she is ok to go back to work.

Well, i told her to rest for a couple of days, until she is stronger and ready to work again. Thanks God, there's nothing bad happen to her, cuz we were thinking of something bad like kidnapping or even voodoo. :)

missing maide

The strange thing happen on friday morning, as we woke up and prepared our selve to go to the office on friday. Our house was still messy from the day before and there were no sign of our maide. I though that she must gone to the market to buy foods or something, though it wasn't her habit to go to market on that particular hour. Usually she will leave that house after we are all off to work.

As I was at the office, i tried to called my maide relatives which work at yoko's old house. She didn't know anything and wonder whether there was a problem at home with me.I said to her, she didn't bring any of her clothes and might leave in an emergency.

So in instance after my dad had sms me, i went home to help on house things.
I was so exhausted i can't barely talk after doing some cleaning. At around 6ish there was a phone called from her telling that she was in some kind of clinic and needed some money to buy some medicine. So my little brother send someone with the money and told him to get her home. That person came home with the money and said he couldn't find her. I get so angry and said you can't just said you didn't find her, have to find her and asked people where she was. Another man was send to that place to find her, again he came back with the same information, no luck on finding her.

When my dear came back from work, i told him about what happen, and he went to look for her aswell. Though, the information she gave was not clear enough, my dear was looking at all the clinic around my house area. Still no luck. And until today, there is no news from her husband, her auntie, or even her sister. She seems to dissapear from the face of the earth.

3rd visit to ObGyn

We had our 3rd visit to our doctor this afternoon.
To my surprise i didn't gain weight at all, though i've been eating quiet a lot lately. Feel bad of not gaining the weight that i supposed to be gain, doc said last month i hv to gain 2 kg, now he was just smiling when the nurse said i didn't gain anything since last visit.

Maybe i should eat more of junk food or even drink those pregnancy milk formula.
Well, my dear didn't look very happy though. But the u/s was so amazing, the brains lungs, hearts and spinal bone already there, well formed. I could see the formed nose, when i said wow, this little one had a nice nose, it moves his/her hands towards the nose and touch it. Hehehehe, it looked like he/she hears what i just said about his/hers nose.

I will scanned this new u/s and post it latter.

Her Condition

Today is the fifth day of her coming back from singapore. Her condition is gradually improved, though still feeling a bit off from the surgery.

My family arrived on friday night, having one and a half hour delay which adds to 8 hours of traveled. The first time i saw my mom i was so in shock, as she was had to be on a wheelchair for some reason. I asked my dad, why did they put her in a wheelchair? He said, because she will get too tired to walk that far from the airplane to the airport carpark. She look so hopeless on that wheelchair, i was so sad to she her like that. My mom, who was so cheerful and so happy, now has to be so skinny and so helpless.

I couldn't say or do anything except kissing and hugged her and holding her hands until we were in the carpark.

My dad said, it will take a couple of months to monitor her health and get her into her former weight or at least put on some weight so that she can look healthier.
It's been hard for everyone in my family, especially my dad, my little brother and my sister who accompanied her to singapore. Although, we will put our best effort to help her recover and puts her into her usual condition. I believe she can get back to her style with a little bit patience. She is a strong woman, and i know that.

Headache

Been having this massive headache since yesterday afternoon.
I was supposed to take a day off yesterday, though i still went to the office, coz i don't know what i'm gonna do if i stayed home the whole day.

This headache won't go away this morning, my dear is home today, he was coughing pretty bad since last night. Gosh..i don't feel so good, barely open my eyes.

My parents and my sibling will be coming back tomorrow afternoon from singapore.
I hope that everything will be ok, since my mom will need more time to recover from her operation. I will take a day off again tomorrow to pick them up from the airport.

Mom's Operation

My mom had to undergo an operation for her stroke. First my dad told me it wasn't a brain operation, but because some of the blood vessel were hiding behind another vessel, so another operation had to be done. The doctor said, for the other 3 vessel they have to open my mom head and do a procedure called "clipping", where they will clip the vessel to prevent the blood vessel from bursting. Thus, after the coiling procedure, where they put some kind of spiral at the tip of the 2 blood vessel (done in Mount Elizabeth Hospital), they moved my mom back to National Uni Hospital to have that "clipping" procedure.

The operation taken around 6 pm on thursday night, and ended around 3 am the next morning. My sister sms me around 2:30 and said the doctor had called and said the operation was going well, and that my mom will be in ICU until the next day.

Thanks God everything was going well.

As I was driving to work this morning, I came upon a thought that i can't help to write it down in here..

Have you ever heard people saying "let it be as God wishes". Here in Indonesia, you can hear lots a people said that (in indonesian phrase "kita serahkan pada Tuhan").People usually said this when they did something, and the result wasn't what they expected and they know they didn't quiet done it well, then they will said this kind of phrase.

Come to think of it, this is become such an excuse for every lack of success from doing you job right. Why can't they said that they didn't put more effort on the job, or they should have done it the other way around, or something else that says it was they own fault that they failed. God would want us to work hard to get what we want. Not just work and pray and hope that God will do the rest.

Anyway, it was just a small thought for this morning...
Gotta back to work...

The not so good news

My mom was cancelling her flight back to Jakarta from Makassar on Thursday, because she was feeling sick. So my dad told her to stayed there and take some medicine and rest. By friday, she was still sick, and her headache hasn't gone yet, though she already taken some medicine prescribe by my sister's friend who is a doctor.

My dad decide to go to Makassar on saturday after the wedding of his former boss's daugther. By then, my mom still very sick and was taken to the hospital by my sister. After seing a doctor, she have to stay in the hospital because apparently her blood preassure was so high. We were so worried back here.

When my dad arrived in Makassar around 7 30ish, he went straight to the hospital and was told that my mom CT scan showed that everything is ok. Though, her headache hadn't gone away, eventhough she taken the medicine for headache, it's gotten worst.
Thus, she stop taken those medicine, and has to wait for the brain doctor to have a look at her.

Apparently, the brain specialist came in the evening, and had observe my mom condition and look at the CT scan result, it turns out that my mom had a mild stroke. My dad told me about it on sunday when I talked to him and asked about my mom condition, i couldnt help to cry. It was such a shock that this would happen to her.

Yesterday, my little brother went to Makassar to renew his passport and accompany my mom and dad to Singapore for further check ups. Hopefully my mom will get well very soon, as the stroke didn't impacted on any of her motoric movement.

Let's all pray for her health.
Love you mom.

Interview with Linfox

This morning, my dear had a phone interview with Linfox, i guess it went well, though there's some interesting discussion on salary expectation. My dear was telling the interviewer who apparantely was also experience in wms project that he expect an increase of 50 - 75 % from his current salary. The interviewer said its kinda high for indonesian assignment, then my dear asked where exactly they will put him, and he said my dear will based in indonesian office, but will travel to bangkok, vietnam and malaysia for projects.

Although, the linfox guy said, he will discuss with the HR people, and proposed what my dear asked, and will follow up with further discussion, because with my dear experience the salary he asked was worth it.

However, the next interview will be with the IT director whom now still in australia, and will be back to bangkok around 18 april. So hopefully, if the director fill that my dear is the person they are looking for, another chat will be schedule with the CIO of linfox.

Well...we both are happy with the interview today..I, on the other hand, will be more happy if we can be based in Thailand instead of in Indonesia. I want our baby to be born in other country. Let's all hope for the best...:)

Second Visit to ObGyn

Haiyaaa....
Today both of us going to the ObGyn for my second visit.
My dear was so eager when he find out that the machine used for ultrasound is going to be use today. So we waited for more than an hour, coz the doctor was stuck in the traffic on his way from another hospital.

Around 11, the doc came with a smile in his face, so we went in, and he asked did i gain any weight...i wouldnt know, coz i havent weighted yet. So, another question was, any complains within this month? I said, just one, i had difficulty of going to the loo, so he wasnt surprise at all, as he was just shaking his head, and said, this is because the iron vitamine i've been taken.

So he just prescribe me another vitamines to help me with the constipation, though he said this medicine kind of hard to get.
O well, at least i've some medecine to help me with this constant worried.

After a little chat, he ask me to jump to the bed, so he can check my tummy...
Wow...I'm 13 weeks and my baby already form a full body, there's a head, body, legs, hands...O my God...I was so happy to see that the baby is growing so fast...:)

My dear was looking at the screen with the amazement in his face.
He printed us another picture of our upcoming baby...I couldn't take a smile out of my face...
Oyah...i've took my blood test result to my doc, and he said, everything is ok. Nothing to be worry about. Well, at least we know that i'm in the good condition and my baby will grow healthty.

Havent had a chance to scan both the 1st u/s and the 2nd u/s, maybe next week i will scan it and post it in here...

A fetus

Baby stages by weeks

I found this url which shows how amazing God gift to humanbeing.
Since I'm on my 1st trimester (11 weeks 7 days),i took a a picture of a baby in their 9-12 weeks.

Do's and Don'ts

Today is my 11 weeks and 7 days..
Since my 1st visit to my ObGyn, i did some researchs in the internet and reads on alot of articles about what should or should not do, what to eat and not to eat.
Well, after a couple of days going through alot of forums for pregnant mother, i've decide that i just do and eat what ever my doc said, coz the more i read on those articles, the more i get nervous, and too much information will eventually blocked my appetite. Some said, it is recommended to eat a can of tuna, then i read somewhere else that tuna has mercury in it (??). Another article said, it is ok drink coffee in moderation, though some said it is a big NO to drink even a cup of tea because it has caffeine in it.

The good news from all the dont's was that it isn't true, that a pg woman can not drink cold water, or ice water, thank God! It got nothing to do with a baby being so big and a lot of water inside a mother tummy.

I also find out why it is hard for me to go to the Loo, every pregnant woman had this problam, as our hormones are changing, and all the little tiny bit inside our tummy is changing, then the routines of going to the Loo will also changing, this also might cause the stool to become blacker (yup! its tru). Another reason why it is so hard for me to go to the Loo for #2 is the iron vitamin that my doc had given me to take everyday. The solutions are to drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses) per day, eat fruits which high in fibre, eat foods which high in fibre (like cereals) or ask a doctor to prescribe you a stool softener or some laxative medicine.

Anyway, I will stop on reading the do's and don'ts and will continue doing what I do now, and maybe increasing my fruits intake and eating more vegies.

Next week is my 2nd doctor visit, my hubby will be joining me for this next visit :)

A beautiful creature inside me

Yes..
We are finally going to have a baby..:)
I was late for my periods almost 2 months already, and on friday 3rd March, I bought those Test Pack.
Not the 'sensitive' one but the HCG, coz I did bought sensitive and have my urine check when I missed my period, and the result turn out negative. Thus, I decide to get the more expensive one from Abbot Diagnotic.

On saturday morning the next day, before I used the test pack, my dear was telling me to be really carefull when doing it. So I did...and while waiting for the result, i was pretending not to be so eager about the result, and continue taking a shower. When my dear came into the bathroom, he was the one who check on it and said...Look, It's Positive!

We both were looking at each other and had a big smile on our face.
Finally..We were so worried before, but i think what we need is just a little patience.

I was so happy and wanted to tell my mother. Though, dear told me to hold that idea, until i see the doctor and have him/her said that I really am pregnant.

So I booked a doctor appointment for tuesday morning...
Lets see what happen...

10 Things You Need To Know About Mobile Computing and SAP

What is Mobile Computing and SAP all about?
Remember the last time you returned a rental car? The agent scanned you back in, and printed your invoice on the spot. That is Mobile Computing. This ability to interact with a system remotely has now been extended to include SAP.

Where might a company use it?
Warehouses are a great example … use it to track the flow of parts/product – and do your next stock-take using a hand-held bar-code scanner. Airline companies can use it to track luggage, Shipping companies can use it to track parcels, Oil and Gas and Utility companies can use it for field equipment maintenance.

How does it work?
You need a hand-held device (preferably with a bar-code scanner), a RF (Radio Frequency) LAN, some middleware, and of course your SAP system. The RF Network has a limited reach (for example 2,000 ft in open space, and 250 ft in a typical office/retail store) … but is expandable by installing additional RF LAN hardware. The middleware, in any event, is able to retain data should the mobile device go out of range – and resume the connection correctly once the mobile device returns into range.

What is the value proposition?
The value proposition is that the cost (of the hand-held devices, the RF LAN and the middleware) is less than the benefits accrued due to the additional accuracy, speed, flexibility and freedom that mobile computing delivers. In our view most companies could probably find some parts of their business where mobile computing would pay handsome dividends.

Do you have to write additional code?
Yes. Additional code is required on the hand-held device for the input and output screens. Whether this can always be ABAP is unclear, but it seems to be what the some of the vendors are suggesting.

two mangos

this morning, instead of going to SMU, i have to go to this new assignment.
apparently the project that i thought was a brand new one, was actually the old project done by sdi. it was a small distribution company, who main business is selling white goods such as air conditioner, refrigeration, plasma tv and so on. after almost a year since they go lived, a new person has been incharge of reviewing and gathering financial report, which lead to the discovery of issues related to the system implementation.

when we came to sdi early for a quick breifing on that matter, the previous project manager tried to explain that what was being address earlier by the client side was not totally correct. Though, i doubt since i know their reputation (sdi known for their notorious reputation), i wouldn't be surprise if what has been told by the client was true, and now they ask us to clean up their mess. So typical of SDI!

after a short briefing on what was going on, we head to mangga dua, and meets with the client. they don't look very happy, and i wouldn't blame them.

anyway, after 2 hours meeting, we finally come to a conclusion and told them to prepared some sort of review on what they want the system to work, and what business process need to be change or even scrap.

bali - day 3

It's my birthday, woken up by the soft kiss from my love.
He was whispering "happy birthday sayang.." n said he didn't get anything for my birthday. I said to him not to worry, coz i don't need anything for my birthday. What more can a girl want, then to have woken up in a beautiful island with her man next to her on her birthday?

I am getting old, but the thought of it today, didn't disturb me at all, as for today my life has been completed as a grown woman. (",)
God has given me a great family, my dream job, and a great man. Ain't that super?

Enough of the birthday thingy..

Today We are planning to rent a car (along with the driver) to go to Ubud, Sukowati market and some other places in Bali. Yesterday we were encounter in front of the hotel by a man named widhi, he offered us transportation around bali for 300 a day (incl petrol n driver),We asked for a reduced of 50000/day n he agreed, but he said not to inform hotel management, because if renting through hotel management, the rate will be higher than what he offered.

To my surprise, driving from kuta to Ubud (our first destination) will only take half an hour, we grab some lunch at the place called "Indus", it was located up the hill, their food was ok, since the restaurant itself has a concept of Thai food, neverless we enjoy lunches there.

Afterward, we drove down hill to visit an art galery and watch baliness dances exercise by small childrens at the PURA nearby. Around 3, we asked mr widhi to take us to Sukowati market, my dear wants to by t-shirt, which he said can only be found in Sukowati market.

Our next destination place was Jimbaran beach, on the way to Jimbaran, we stoped by at Sanur beach to have a pick at whats going on in Sanur. At the time we arrived in Jimbaran, it was already half past 6, the sun already hit the water level, but we still catch the sunset. Jimbaran's is famous for its delicious seafood meal and its location which is on the beach, where you can enjoy the sound of waves and the freshness of sea breeze. We ordered lobster, muscle, vegies and fish along with white wine. Dinner was served in plates with banana leaves and song was played by a bunch of "pengamen". It was perfect!. After dinner, we went straight back to the hotel to take a hot shower and then walk to HRC which located in front of our hotel.
Spend 2 hours and 2 glass of rockopolitan (another named for cosmopolitan) and walked back to the hotel taking a long walk down kuta's beach.

Today everything went perfect.

bali - day 2

We had been woken up by the fresh smell of the sea. We had breakfast at 9 and planning to walk on the street of Legian and Kuta for the day. The weather seems to have its own way of showing welcome, it was as hot as we expected.

The first thing we’ve noticed about Bali was that their tourism was not as bad as what people said in the News. Though, not as much as before the incident on Paddi’s bar two years ago. It was said that Bali was nearly empty for a couple of months, and people who works in the city had to go back to their village, back to do some farms work.

We had lunch at Kuta’s famous place called Warung Made’s. As we had our lunch, we were discussing about a women who was sitting near us, at the same table with a couple of Australian tourist. This woman was wearing kinda traditional and old fashion clothing, she has Indonesian face, but when she spoke, she sounds like she was American. After half an hour, 2 of her friends came by, another Indonesian woman with an old white man. As they were chatting and making a small talk, I can’t keep myself smiling when I heard her saying that the white man had a face of an Indonesian. How can a white man look like an Indonesian? Then I thought, maybe she was trying to make that man happy, cause from the minute he arrived, he was trying very hard to speak Indonesian.

Anywho..after a long lunch and a couple glass of ice cold lemon tea. We continue our walking for another hour and then hit back to the hotel.

When we were just playing lazy in our room, my love was watching lord of the ring on tv and i was reading a girly novel (4 blondes), we were shocked by the sound of wall cracking. First we thought there was some renovation going on next door, but when another crack came, i looked down on the floor, there was a line of cracked from the balcony to the tv stand. Not long after my dear called for an engineer to check up our room, we were transfered to another room which is closer to the pool and was upgraded to suite room (after i said i don't want to move when they offered to move us to the same grade room but with twin bed..DooOHH!)

On our honeymoon in Bali

Bali - DaY 1

Our flight was scheduled at 16:20, we took a cab from Pancoran an hour before that, bearing that our flight will leave as scheduled. But i guess we're not that lucky afterall. After spending 3 hours at the airport (my dear said Lion stand for Late is our Nature) we were flying to Bali at 7:50. Travel time from Jakarta to Denpasar is 1 hour and 20 minutes with an hour time difference between Jakarta and Bali. Thus, we landed in Ngurah Rai airport approximately around 10 pm, 5 minutes waited for our luggages and half an hour to reach our hotel. By the time we settled in our room it was already 10 to 11. Luckily our Hotel was right in the middle of Kuta, so we decided to have dinner near by our hotel, a place called R.aja’s.

We both tired and exhausted but we wont let those people to ruin our honeymoon. At Raja’s, we engage in a conversation with one of R.aja’s waitress, to our surprise he is not baliness, but he’s batakness named Ronald, who thought my dear was from sumatera as well. Well, he told us that its hard for him to find any batak’s girl in Bali (go figure!). I suggested him to go back to Jakarta and join one of jakarta’s famous church where he can find any nice batak’s girl. After a nice cold beer we decided its time for us to head back to the hotel, we were too exhausted to go anywhere.

Dear's family gathering

Yesterday I went to dear’s cousin son baptism dinner celebration. I met the whole family of his auntie from his father side.

First it was kind of awkward when his cousin mention that last year a different woman was introduced as his girlfriend. But then, I realized everyone has they old story. We move on from our past and face the future, hoping that the future will be better.

Today is the beginning of our 2nd week of training; this week will consist of warehouse management training. I’ve just received news that I will be fit in for Steve, and Steve will be assigned for LION instead, because Steve won’t be able to come back soon, and apparently SMU team member are already feel comfortable with me in the team. Well, I’m glad, coz it means that I get to be in the same project with my boyfriend again. J

Oya..mr agus is joining the team today. Agus is dear’s best friend. He was assigned in Yogya for Sari Husada Project.

Val's day?

A week ago, when everybody was so exciting about celebrating what they called as “valentine’s day”, my boyfriend and I started our new project. It was the most tiring day for both of us (and still is), especially for my boyfriend, as he was the one who conducted the training session for mmwm module. We were kind of surprise for the amount of people who join our training session, since we were told it will only attended by 20 people. Thus, we ended up conduct training for 28 people. Imagine answering question for 28 different brains, and trying to make all them understand what you’re saying. We have to walk around from one person to anther, when it comes to exercise time.

My first impression when our team member was introducing themselves was that most of them will be easy to teach (most of them are Science graduate), but in other hand, because so many people within one module, it will be very hard to control they’re work.

On day 2 of our training, some complains were made from our client, luckily it wasn’t from our class. 2 other trainer was being complaint as they were “speaking too fast” or “not clear” etc. My boyfriend was worried that he might get complains as well, but even the Project Coordinator said, our class is the best class from 3. Phuwww…what a relieve…

After finished with training day 3, we both were so exhausted. I went home, had a shower, then sit quietly in front of TV with no intention of increasing the volume until my brother walk in to the room and ask me why did I watched TV with no sounds. Sometimes when I’m so tired, I can’t be bother to do anything else except just lying down watching TV or do nothing…hehehe, I know it sounds kind of wacky. But it does happen to me quiet often.

The 4th and the 5th day wasn’t that bad, we had our rest, and somehow we can get along with all them easily. After work on Friday night, we went home to see my dad, and grab some dinner at KTS.

It was quiet a week. I’ve learn so much from my boyfriend. He knows what he’s talking and delivers the material with detailed explanation.

Thanks Lord

It’s been quiet sometimes since our last posting.
One year has past, and between year 2004 and 2005 a lot has been happening around us.
Sad story, happy story..all wrapped up within a short period of time.

On December, we spend a lot of time together with my family; since my parents were staying in Jakarta most of the time and my other sibling whom usually lives in Makassar had decide to spend Christmas and New Year in Jakarta. Although, Yoko had to spend Christmas with his family back in Magelang, we always keep each other updated of what’s going on around us.

Then something bad happen, no..not to us, but to our country and some part of the world.
It was on Boxing Day, 26th December; I woke up early that day, and was flipping the channel on TV when news was broadcasted there’s a huge Tsunami in Nabire, then an earthquake in Medan, further to another hit in Aceh. A lot of people were drowned and missing. Apparently, in that same day the Tsunami also hit Thailand, India and Srilangka. A total of 150000 people reported missing or dead around the world. It said that it’s the biggest tsunami ever within 10 years. Indonesia suffered the highest lost casualties from the tsunamis. It was a horrible day for the world. The day where every one gets together and helps one another.

I wish everything will be back to normal, as it is a sign from God, that we, humans are growing each day to be a stranger to Him and become more distance to His existence. May He find forgiveness to all of us and lead to a new beginning. A life with obedience and give thanks every seconds of a day.

Today I pray for His forgiveness, and today I pray for all the good things happen in my life, and joyful things that He promise to me.

Thanks Lord.

New Years

My dad decide that we go and see my grandmother in Sukabumi for new years, my mom asked Yoko to come along. It was kind of spontaneous, so it was hard to find hotels with 5 rooms available for new years. Although, as I was the one who in charged of hotel reservation, it took 12 phone calls to finally found a hotel that can accommodate 9 people. It was set that we would travel from my parents house around 8 in the morning on 31 December with the estimation that we would arrived in Sukabumi around noon. (Considering traffic)

Just the night before we departed from Jakarta, my father told me that apparently his friend already make a reservation for the whole family to stay at one of the hotel in Salabintana. So, when we arrived at my granny’s house, some of us have to check in at the hotel, and some stayed at grannies. New years with my mother’s family actually wasn’t quiet what I expected, usually all grand children will come and stayed, but this year, only a couple of cousins showed up. Anyways, it’s the right time to introduce my boyfriend to my grand mother. Sukabumi was so packed; I can’t believe that the traffic was so bad; it took nearly an hour from our hotel to the restaurant.
After spending new years eve at grannies, we went back to our hotel, and open a bottle of Chivas (teddy bought it from the hotel management) and a couple bottle of beers, we ended up went to bed around 4 am in the morning.

I woke up with a massive headache, and rush in to shower, as my dad already getting himself ready to go back to my grannies house for lunch before heading back to Jakarta.
On the way to my grannies, we stopped by at the famous porridge place in Sukabumi called Bunut’s Porridge. People said going Sukabumi without eating that porridge wouldn’t be complete. Anyway, It was a great new years ever!
