bali - day 3

It's my birthday, woken up by the soft kiss from my love.
He was whispering "happy birthday sayang.." n said he didn't get anything for my birthday. I said to him not to worry, coz i don't need anything for my birthday. What more can a girl want, then to have woken up in a beautiful island with her man next to her on her birthday?

I am getting old, but the thought of it today, didn't disturb me at all, as for today my life has been completed as a grown woman. (",)
God has given me a great family, my dream job, and a great man. Ain't that super?

Enough of the birthday thingy..

Today We are planning to rent a car (along with the driver) to go to Ubud, Sukowati market and some other places in Bali. Yesterday we were encounter in front of the hotel by a man named widhi, he offered us transportation around bali for 300 a day (incl petrol n driver),We asked for a reduced of 50000/day n he agreed, but he said not to inform hotel management, because if renting through hotel management, the rate will be higher than what he offered.

To my surprise, driving from kuta to Ubud (our first destination) will only take half an hour, we grab some lunch at the place called "Indus", it was located up the hill, their food was ok, since the restaurant itself has a concept of Thai food, neverless we enjoy lunches there.

Afterward, we drove down hill to visit an art galery and watch baliness dances exercise by small childrens at the PURA nearby. Around 3, we asked mr widhi to take us to Sukowati market, my dear wants to by t-shirt, which he said can only be found in Sukowati market.

Our next destination place was Jimbaran beach, on the way to Jimbaran, we stoped by at Sanur beach to have a pick at whats going on in Sanur. At the time we arrived in Jimbaran, it was already half past 6, the sun already hit the water level, but we still catch the sunset. Jimbaran's is famous for its delicious seafood meal and its location which is on the beach, where you can enjoy the sound of waves and the freshness of sea breeze. We ordered lobster, muscle, vegies and fish along with white wine. Dinner was served in plates with banana leaves and song was played by a bunch of "pengamen". It was perfect!. After dinner, we went straight back to the hotel to take a hot shower and then walk to HRC which located in front of our hotel.
Spend 2 hours and 2 glass of rockopolitan (another named for cosmopolitan) and walked back to the hotel taking a long walk down kuta's beach.

Today everything went perfect.

bali - day 2

We had been woken up by the fresh smell of the sea. We had breakfast at 9 and planning to walk on the street of Legian and Kuta for the day. The weather seems to have its own way of showing welcome, it was as hot as we expected.

The first thing we’ve noticed about Bali was that their tourism was not as bad as what people said in the News. Though, not as much as before the incident on Paddi’s bar two years ago. It was said that Bali was nearly empty for a couple of months, and people who works in the city had to go back to their village, back to do some farms work.

We had lunch at Kuta’s famous place called Warung Made’s. As we had our lunch, we were discussing about a women who was sitting near us, at the same table with a couple of Australian tourist. This woman was wearing kinda traditional and old fashion clothing, she has Indonesian face, but when she spoke, she sounds like she was American. After half an hour, 2 of her friends came by, another Indonesian woman with an old white man. As they were chatting and making a small talk, I can’t keep myself smiling when I heard her saying that the white man had a face of an Indonesian. How can a white man look like an Indonesian? Then I thought, maybe she was trying to make that man happy, cause from the minute he arrived, he was trying very hard to speak Indonesian.

Anywho..after a long lunch and a couple glass of ice cold lemon tea. We continue our walking for another hour and then hit back to the hotel.

When we were just playing lazy in our room, my love was watching lord of the ring on tv and i was reading a girly novel (4 blondes), we were shocked by the sound of wall cracking. First we thought there was some renovation going on next door, but when another crack came, i looked down on the floor, there was a line of cracked from the balcony to the tv stand. Not long after my dear called for an engineer to check up our room, we were transfered to another room which is closer to the pool and was upgraded to suite room (after i said i don't want to move when they offered to move us to the same grade room but with twin bed..DooOHH!)

On our honeymoon in Bali

Bali - DaY 1

Our flight was scheduled at 16:20, we took a cab from Pancoran an hour before that, bearing that our flight will leave as scheduled. But i guess we're not that lucky afterall. After spending 3 hours at the airport (my dear said Lion stand for Late is our Nature) we were flying to Bali at 7:50. Travel time from Jakarta to Denpasar is 1 hour and 20 minutes with an hour time difference between Jakarta and Bali. Thus, we landed in Ngurah Rai airport approximately around 10 pm, 5 minutes waited for our luggages and half an hour to reach our hotel. By the time we settled in our room it was already 10 to 11. Luckily our Hotel was right in the middle of Kuta, so we decided to have dinner near by our hotel, a place called R.aja’s.

We both tired and exhausted but we wont let those people to ruin our honeymoon. At Raja’s, we engage in a conversation with one of R.aja’s waitress, to our surprise he is not baliness, but he’s batakness named Ronald, who thought my dear was from sumatera as well. Well, he told us that its hard for him to find any batak’s girl in Bali (go figure!). I suggested him to go back to Jakarta and join one of jakarta’s famous church where he can find any nice batak’s girl. After a nice cold beer we decided its time for us to head back to the hotel, we were too exhausted to go anywhere.
