two mangos

this morning, instead of going to SMU, i have to go to this new assignment.
apparently the project that i thought was a brand new one, was actually the old project done by sdi. it was a small distribution company, who main business is selling white goods such as air conditioner, refrigeration, plasma tv and so on. after almost a year since they go lived, a new person has been incharge of reviewing and gathering financial report, which lead to the discovery of issues related to the system implementation.

when we came to sdi early for a quick breifing on that matter, the previous project manager tried to explain that what was being address earlier by the client side was not totally correct. Though, i doubt since i know their reputation (sdi known for their notorious reputation), i wouldn't be surprise if what has been told by the client was true, and now they ask us to clean up their mess. So typical of SDI!

after a short briefing on what was going on, we head to mangga dua, and meets with the client. they don't look very happy, and i wouldn't blame them.

anyway, after 2 hours meeting, we finally come to a conclusion and told them to prepared some sort of review on what they want the system to work, and what business process need to be change or even scrap.

bali - day 3

It's my birthday, woken up by the soft kiss from my love.
He was whispering "happy birthday sayang.." n said he didn't get anything for my birthday. I said to him not to worry, coz i don't need anything for my birthday. What more can a girl want, then to have woken up in a beautiful island with her man next to her on her birthday?

I am getting old, but the thought of it today, didn't disturb me at all, as for today my life has been completed as a grown woman. (",)
God has given me a great family, my dream job, and a great man. Ain't that super?

Enough of the birthday thingy..

Today We are planning to rent a car (along with the driver) to go to Ubud, Sukowati market and some other places in Bali. Yesterday we were encounter in front of the hotel by a man named widhi, he offered us transportation around bali for 300 a day (incl petrol n driver),We asked for a reduced of 50000/day n he agreed, but he said not to inform hotel management, because if renting through hotel management, the rate will be higher than what he offered.

To my surprise, driving from kuta to Ubud (our first destination) will only take half an hour, we grab some lunch at the place called "Indus", it was located up the hill, their food was ok, since the restaurant itself has a concept of Thai food, neverless we enjoy lunches there.

Afterward, we drove down hill to visit an art galery and watch baliness dances exercise by small childrens at the PURA nearby. Around 3, we asked mr widhi to take us to Sukowati market, my dear wants to by t-shirt, which he said can only be found in Sukowati market.

Our next destination place was Jimbaran beach, on the way to Jimbaran, we stoped by at Sanur beach to have a pick at whats going on in Sanur. At the time we arrived in Jimbaran, it was already half past 6, the sun already hit the water level, but we still catch the sunset. Jimbaran's is famous for its delicious seafood meal and its location which is on the beach, where you can enjoy the sound of waves and the freshness of sea breeze. We ordered lobster, muscle, vegies and fish along with white wine. Dinner was served in plates with banana leaves and song was played by a bunch of "pengamen". It was perfect!. After dinner, we went straight back to the hotel to take a hot shower and then walk to HRC which located in front of our hotel.
Spend 2 hours and 2 glass of rockopolitan (another named for cosmopolitan) and walked back to the hotel taking a long walk down kuta's beach.

Today everything went perfect.

bali - day 2

We had been woken up by the fresh smell of the sea. We had breakfast at 9 and planning to walk on the street of Legian and Kuta for the day. The weather seems to have its own way of showing welcome, it was as hot as we expected.

The first thing we’ve noticed about Bali was that their tourism was not as bad as what people said in the News. Though, not as much as before the incident on Paddi’s bar two years ago. It was said that Bali was nearly empty for a couple of months, and people who works in the city had to go back to their village, back to do some farms work.

We had lunch at Kuta’s famous place called Warung Made’s. As we had our lunch, we were discussing about a women who was sitting near us, at the same table with a couple of Australian tourist. This woman was wearing kinda traditional and old fashion clothing, she has Indonesian face, but when she spoke, she sounds like she was American. After half an hour, 2 of her friends came by, another Indonesian woman with an old white man. As they were chatting and making a small talk, I can’t keep myself smiling when I heard her saying that the white man had a face of an Indonesian. How can a white man look like an Indonesian? Then I thought, maybe she was trying to make that man happy, cause from the minute he arrived, he was trying very hard to speak Indonesian.

Anywho..after a long lunch and a couple glass of ice cold lemon tea. We continue our walking for another hour and then hit back to the hotel.

When we were just playing lazy in our room, my love was watching lord of the ring on tv and i was reading a girly novel (4 blondes), we were shocked by the sound of wall cracking. First we thought there was some renovation going on next door, but when another crack came, i looked down on the floor, there was a line of cracked from the balcony to the tv stand. Not long after my dear called for an engineer to check up our room, we were transfered to another room which is closer to the pool and was upgraded to suite room (after i said i don't want to move when they offered to move us to the same grade room but with twin bed..DooOHH!)

On our honeymoon in Bali

Bali - DaY 1

Our flight was scheduled at 16:20, we took a cab from Pancoran an hour before that, bearing that our flight will leave as scheduled. But i guess we're not that lucky afterall. After spending 3 hours at the airport (my dear said Lion stand for Late is our Nature) we were flying to Bali at 7:50. Travel time from Jakarta to Denpasar is 1 hour and 20 minutes with an hour time difference between Jakarta and Bali. Thus, we landed in Ngurah Rai airport approximately around 10 pm, 5 minutes waited for our luggages and half an hour to reach our hotel. By the time we settled in our room it was already 10 to 11. Luckily our Hotel was right in the middle of Kuta, so we decided to have dinner near by our hotel, a place called R.aja’s.

We both tired and exhausted but we wont let those people to ruin our honeymoon. At Raja’s, we engage in a conversation with one of R.aja’s waitress, to our surprise he is not baliness, but he’s batakness named Ronald, who thought my dear was from sumatera as well. Well, he told us that its hard for him to find any batak’s girl in Bali (go figure!). I suggested him to go back to Jakarta and join one of jakarta’s famous church where he can find any nice batak’s girl. After a nice cold beer we decided its time for us to head back to the hotel, we were too exhausted to go anywhere.

Dear's family gathering

Yesterday I went to dear’s cousin son baptism dinner celebration. I met the whole family of his auntie from his father side.

First it was kind of awkward when his cousin mention that last year a different woman was introduced as his girlfriend. But then, I realized everyone has they old story. We move on from our past and face the future, hoping that the future will be better.

Today is the beginning of our 2nd week of training; this week will consist of warehouse management training. I’ve just received news that I will be fit in for Steve, and Steve will be assigned for LION instead, because Steve won’t be able to come back soon, and apparently SMU team member are already feel comfortable with me in the team. Well, I’m glad, coz it means that I get to be in the same project with my boyfriend again. J

Oya..mr agus is joining the team today. Agus is dear’s best friend. He was assigned in Yogya for Sari Husada Project.

Val's day?

A week ago, when everybody was so exciting about celebrating what they called as “valentine’s day”, my boyfriend and I started our new project. It was the most tiring day for both of us (and still is), especially for my boyfriend, as he was the one who conducted the training session for mmwm module. We were kind of surprise for the amount of people who join our training session, since we were told it will only attended by 20 people. Thus, we ended up conduct training for 28 people. Imagine answering question for 28 different brains, and trying to make all them understand what you’re saying. We have to walk around from one person to anther, when it comes to exercise time.

My first impression when our team member was introducing themselves was that most of them will be easy to teach (most of them are Science graduate), but in other hand, because so many people within one module, it will be very hard to control they’re work.

On day 2 of our training, some complains were made from our client, luckily it wasn’t from our class. 2 other trainer was being complaint as they were “speaking too fast” or “not clear” etc. My boyfriend was worried that he might get complains as well, but even the Project Coordinator said, our class is the best class from 3. Phuwww…what a relieve…

After finished with training day 3, we both were so exhausted. I went home, had a shower, then sit quietly in front of TV with no intention of increasing the volume until my brother walk in to the room and ask me why did I watched TV with no sounds. Sometimes when I’m so tired, I can’t be bother to do anything else except just lying down watching TV or do nothing…hehehe, I know it sounds kind of wacky. But it does happen to me quiet often.

The 4th and the 5th day wasn’t that bad, we had our rest, and somehow we can get along with all them easily. After work on Friday night, we went home to see my dad, and grab some dinner at KTS.

It was quiet a week. I’ve learn so much from my boyfriend. He knows what he’s talking and delivers the material with detailed explanation.

Thanks Lord

It’s been quiet sometimes since our last posting.
One year has past, and between year 2004 and 2005 a lot has been happening around us.
Sad story, happy story..all wrapped up within a short period of time.

On December, we spend a lot of time together with my family; since my parents were staying in Jakarta most of the time and my other sibling whom usually lives in Makassar had decide to spend Christmas and New Year in Jakarta. Although, Yoko had to spend Christmas with his family back in Magelang, we always keep each other updated of what’s going on around us.

Then something bad happen, no..not to us, but to our country and some part of the world.
It was on Boxing Day, 26th December; I woke up early that day, and was flipping the channel on TV when news was broadcasted there’s a huge Tsunami in Nabire, then an earthquake in Medan, further to another hit in Aceh. A lot of people were drowned and missing. Apparently, in that same day the Tsunami also hit Thailand, India and Srilangka. A total of 150000 people reported missing or dead around the world. It said that it’s the biggest tsunami ever within 10 years. Indonesia suffered the highest lost casualties from the tsunamis. It was a horrible day for the world. The day where every one gets together and helps one another.

I wish everything will be back to normal, as it is a sign from God, that we, humans are growing each day to be a stranger to Him and become more distance to His existence. May He find forgiveness to all of us and lead to a new beginning. A life with obedience and give thanks every seconds of a day.

Today I pray for His forgiveness, and today I pray for all the good things happen in my life, and joyful things that He promise to me.

Thanks Lord.

New Years

My dad decide that we go and see my grandmother in Sukabumi for new years, my mom asked Yoko to come along. It was kind of spontaneous, so it was hard to find hotels with 5 rooms available for new years. Although, as I was the one who in charged of hotel reservation, it took 12 phone calls to finally found a hotel that can accommodate 9 people. It was set that we would travel from my parents house around 8 in the morning on 31 December with the estimation that we would arrived in Sukabumi around noon. (Considering traffic)

Just the night before we departed from Jakarta, my father told me that apparently his friend already make a reservation for the whole family to stay at one of the hotel in Salabintana. So, when we arrived at my granny’s house, some of us have to check in at the hotel, and some stayed at grannies. New years with my mother’s family actually wasn’t quiet what I expected, usually all grand children will come and stayed, but this year, only a couple of cousins showed up. Anyways, it’s the right time to introduce my boyfriend to my grand mother. Sukabumi was so packed; I can’t believe that the traffic was so bad; it took nearly an hour from our hotel to the restaurant.
After spending new years eve at grannies, we went back to our hotel, and open a bottle of Chivas (teddy bought it from the hotel management) and a couple bottle of beers, we ended up went to bed around 4 am in the morning.

I woke up with a massive headache, and rush in to shower, as my dad already getting himself ready to go back to my grannies house for lunch before heading back to Jakarta.
On the way to my grannies, we stopped by at the famous porridge place in Sukabumi called Bunut’s Porridge. People said going Sukabumi without eating that porridge wouldn’t be complete. Anyway, It was a great new years ever!
